This is by far and away my favorite aquarium accessory. With over 80 tanks to keep clean my Python is my life saver, and certainly the life saver of my fish! I love my Python and can't recomend this highly enough.
I spent years doing water changes with a bucket and hose. You know the type? You suck on the end of the hose until the water almost reaches the end and then toss it in to a bucket that's lower than the tank, and let gravity pull your water out. Well this works just great until some day you get distracted or misjudge and get a mouth full of old tank water. It's even worse when you're in the middle of cleaning out a cichlid tank and the fish poop is floating everywhere. YUCK!
If you have anything larger than a fish bowl and particularly if you're keeping multiple tanks, I'd recomend getting a Python. It's so much nicer than using a bucket and hose. They also fit to a garden hose. I drain my tanks out into my gardens and trees outside. I live in the desert and water conservation is an issue, so I try not to waste any, and it's nice that I can still drain my tanks outside. I also set mine up extra long. When my first one wore out, instead of getting replacement parts I got a whole new python and put the 2 long hoses together to form an extra long hose.
The Python also comes with adapters so you can hook it up on most inside faucets too. I use the one in my bathroom sometimes. This is also good for refilling tanks at water that's the correct temperature. When refilling tanks I use a dechorinator. I do all my water changes with my Python.
The 25' and 50' model are listed to the left. Other parts and additional equipment is listed below.
